To All Proprietors
I would like to take a minute to update you on your District four High School Bowling and to say Thank You! I believe without the proprietors we have in this district this league wouldn't be possible. It is of my most sincere appreciation to all of you for what you have done and for what you do to help make this league one of the best I ever been associated with. As a friend and once competitor of mine Hall of Famer Greg Stauffacher says, you surround yourself with good people and good things will happen, you are those people in District Four. Again I say Thank You!
In 2008, District Four was as competitive as ever, but it was all Sun Prairie as they won all three divisions in back to back years. And yes, I am very proud of that!
At the 2008 State tournament in Ashwaubenon, District Four had three of the top seven varsity teams in the state, Madison East 3rd, Sun Prairie 6th and Madison Lafollette 7th, only 15 pins kept our district from having 3 teams in the top five for the TV finals. This alone shows you all what kind of a program we have here. District Four also showed well in the Varsity girls division as the Sun Prairie girls made us proud by finishing in the top 10 at 8th. This was a great showing for District Four and I believe we are all poised to make a great run in 2009.
Not only did we have a great season both locally and at state but we also did something NO other sport can do, with 135 bowlers taking part of the annual scholarship tournament we paid out $1,735 in scholarships to 32 bowlers held at Bowl-a-Vard lanes. We were able to pay out these dollars by charging a small fee and by the sponsorship that some of you gave to this tournament. If you would like to be a sponsor and/or sponsor this tournament again in 09 please let me know.
We currently have 14 varsity boys, 6 varsity girls and 13 junior varsity teams consisting of some 200 bowlers, some of these bowlers have n ever bowled in a league before. I can personally say that at Sun Prairie within the last two weeks we have added three non league bowlers and have been approached by five others wanting to join our team. This is a great sign indicating the word is getting out and we are drawing new people into this great sport we call bowling every day.
The Coaches, athletes and parents appreciate very much the donation of your centers for practice time and your time and commitment to the High School Jackpot to help support this league.
We would like to thank all you for your support in making District 4 a well respected program within the State. As we appreciate all you do, if you would like a financial statement of this league and see where your money is spent, please call me at 220-3760. I will gladly share it with you.
THANK YOU!
Sincerely;
John Breunig,
District 4 Commissioner,
President & BCAW Representative

Cher Breunig along with Phil Dowling happily take time out of their busy schedules and volunteer to run this tournament, to them we are grateful! Thanks to Village Lanes, Waun-A-Bowl and Badger Bowl for their support in '08. Last years Champions where Samantha Kilian from Sun Prairie and Cody Ramsden of Verona.
It's proprietors like you and the volunteers in this business that make this sport so great and in no other sport can they say their athletes earn scholarship dollars as they compete in a sport they love.
